In 2017, a small group of caregivers pooled their own savings when no funder was ready to back them. By December 2018 they incorporated as a social enterprise. One month before Singapore's COVID-19 lockdown, they launched their first mobile app โ and when the pandemic hit, over 6,000 volunteers mobilised through it to check on seniors, run errands, and keep isolated neighbours company.
That call centre became CareConnect. That mutual aid became a movement. This is where it lives on.
